Winter 1949. In the small Asturian village of Cerralbos de Sella, its most illustrious neighbor, the great writer Blas Otamendi, has just died. His nephew Julio, now a professor in France, attends the funeral. The encounter with his uncle's friends, his former maid, and the family mansion in Llendelabarca, where he lived with the writer as a child, awaken Julio's childhood memories. "Historia de un beso" is the second installment of what filmmaker José Luis Garci has called his "triptych of love," begun with "You're the One" and still unfinished. True to its author's rhetorical, perfectionist, and nostalgic style, the film tells a love story that takes place between the happy 1920s and the terrible post-war 1940s. The cast includes veterans Alfredo Landa and Agustín González, as well as Ana Fernández—who was nominated for a Goya for her work—and Carlos Hipólito, who previously worked with Garci on the aforementioned "You're the One."
