Eva Le Gallienne, born January 11, 1899 in London and died June 3, 1991 in Weston, United States, was a British-American actress. She was the daughter of English poet and author Richard Le Gallienne. She is also known for being Peter Falk's acting teacher, whom she convinced to become an actor at the age of 28. In 1926, the year she obtained American citizenship, she founded a theater company based at the Fourteenth Street Theatre in New York City, where she served as an actress, manager, and producer until its closure in 1935 during the Great Depression.
