Jordi Cadena i Casanovas (Barcelona, ​​March 11, 1947) is a director, screenwriter and producer of Catalan cinema. He is one of the most important contemporary Catalan filmmakers, finalist for the Gaudí awards for Elisa K and La por, since 1967 he has had a career with essential titles such as És quan dormo que hi veig clar or La senyora, portraits of extraordinary painters such as Guinovart, Tharrats or Vilacasas, documentaries such as Nits de Jazz or the historical one he made with Albert Abril about the 1977 Diada de Catalunya. He has been a professor of Screenwriting and Direction at the Pompeu Fabra University and the Sant Ignasi Polytechnic Institute. He is the partner of Judith Colell, with whom he lives in Sant Cugat del Vallès.
